Trevor Walker is Vice President of Learning & Development for Ascension, the nation’s largest nonprofit health system and world’s largest Catholic health system. He is responsible for Leadership Development, Associate and Leadership Orientation, Learning Solutions & Delivery, Enterprise Mandatory Education, and Workforce Capability Development. A pioneering Learning and Development Executive recognized as a bold, genuine architect of benchmark learning and development interventions for organizations within the service, utility, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors. Trevor has created, consolidated and optimized structures and organizations that effectively and efficiently solve human performance problems and leverage employee development opportunities to improve business outcomes. A graduate of Brigham Young University and Pacific Lutheran University, Trevor’s career has included work with The National Institute of Standards and Technologies Idaho Affiliate, Boise Cascade Corporation, Catholic Health Initiatives, Trinity Health, St. Luke’s Health and currently Ascension. Trevor recently served as co-chair of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership’s Inter-Organizational Coaching Exchange, and he currently serves as a member of the SkillSoft Executive Advisory Board. He has an in depth knowledge of adult learning, human performance improvement systems, organizational culture change and generational variables and his work has always been focused on meeting the strategic needs of the organization though the development and support of a competent and capable workforce. Trevor’s interest outside of work include, health & fitness, ice hockey, traveling and time with his wife of 21 years Tammie and their four children, Justin, Zachary, Jadyn and Treyvn.
As Ascension is leading the transformation of Healthcare in our country, they identified the need to transform their learning culture to focus more on the value of the targeted interventions rather than the sheer number of offerings and participants. To do so, they evaluated a new learning platform that would drive increased levels of learner engagement and deliver maximum business impact. During this session attendees will hear about the successful roll-out of a “blended learning” environment where employees can engage with each other, form online learning groups and tap into diverse knowledge sources.
